It’s the road that one takes that holds the stories that they tell, and Sam Riddle has taken his own way. It’s not by accident that a one-time basketball star is one of the best performers to step on the country music scene. Musical talent also happens to run in Sam’s family. His father was a founding member of Montana’s well known Mission Mountain Wood Band; Sam’s uncle was a world class Broadway composer. From the word go, Sam lived the musician’s life, eating and breathing music, learning the nuances of showmanship that would one day be his trademark. Sam became known for his electric, crowd-stirring performances. After two years, the irrepressible, irrefutable natural talent was ready to take the next step, and fate intervened when Sam met producer, Stoll Vaughan. Sam put pen to paper, lyric to melody. What emerged taps into his varied influences, blending Montana country roots with New York showmanship. Sam calls on all that he’s experienced on the road, on the court, on stages from coast-to-coast, and recounts everything from emotional highs to desperate lows to create music that lays his soul bare. As a result, his music has a depth that had to be earned, taps a pulse that only an ace performer can find. It’s the music of a fast-tracked guy who took the long road, and a sound that will take Sam Riddle a long way.

A THOUSAND HORSES
WED 8/17 – @ 9PM
Gilley’s Las Vegas is proud to present A Thousand Horses live on the Gilley’s Stage on Wednesday, August 17. Tickets are $15 at the door. Doors open at 7pm, concert starts at 9pm.
A Thousand Horses is a fresh fusion of classic sounds – a hybrid of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, Black Crowes and Exile on Main Street-era Rolling Stones, wrapped up in a modern-country context. The band’s album, Southernality, is as wild and free and powerful as the name A Thousand Horses implies. This is the result of years of a road-doggin’ pursuit, determination and an against-the-odds struggle that found its rewards by bringing great music to the people. Their hit single “Smoke” set a record for the highest debut by a new act when it opened at No. 28 on the Country Aircheck country songs chart.
Gilley's Dance Hall will generally be open from dusk (6pm - 8pm) to dawn (2am - 4am) with a live DJ whenever there isn't a live band on stage. Whether it's the latest Texas two-step, line dancing, country waltz or any flat-footed glide that works well in cowboy boots, Gilley's has the ideal music and dance hall to accommodate all comers.
Regular folk will enjoy the nightclub scene as the live DJ spins tunes from rock to blues, modern and traditional country, and even a little hip hop club music when there aren't too many cowboy hats in the saloon.
EVERY TUES & WED 8:00pm - Midnight
Each and every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm, or earlier if the mood strikes us right, the Dance Hall stage will feature the best (and funniest) voices of our Saloon customers wishing to grab the microphone and belt out a tune.
Sing along or simply enjoy the sounds and sights, as we make sure all your favorites are on the song list, and keep the entertainment lively each Tuesday and Wednesday.
